The perfect campsite
Hello out there! For most of my life, I have been a committed journal writer, but over the past years, with my increasingly busy life, I've fallen out of the habit. I miss the contemplation of keeping a journal, so I'm hoping this space can bring some of that back to my life. I also hope that by writing and thinking about the things I really enjoy spending my time on, I'll be more motivated to get off the couch and do those things. For now, this will blog will be entirely for me, but I will try to keep it interesting for anyone that does wander by.
With that said, I'll tell you all about the wonderful camping trip I recently went on.
I've been on a couple hikes in the Teanaway area, but have wanted to spend a weekend camping there for several years. A few weeks ago, I got to do just that, and it certainly lived up to my expectations! It was absolutely my favorite camping trip in Washington, possibly ever. For those who do not know, Teanaway Community Forest is an absolutely stunning area in Central Washington, filled with clear mountain streams, beautiful mountains, and ponderosa pines.
We headed out, planning to camp in the De Roux Campground, but wound up finding the perfect campsite several miles before we even reached De Roux.
My photos do not do the wonderful campsite we found justice. For a start, they can't capture the wonderful smell of ponderosa. Or the warmth of the sunshine and the fresh breeze coming from the North Fork Teanaway River.
Overall, it was the perfect reminder of how much we love camping. Hopefully the memory of this trip will help motivate us to get out and sleep under the stars a few more times this year!
