Life: Week 29
These days, my daily runs are scented by the abundant blackberries lining the local trails. My daily runs are also more like daily walks, since I can't handle running in this heat! I've made a deal with myself that even if it's too hot to motivate myself for running, I should at least go for a long walk. Hopefully I can keep up some level of activity through the heat to come in August.
We celebrated Andy's birthday this week. He doesn't like a lot of fuss, so we celebrated with something we haven't had in a long time - a relaxed morning at home. We made french toast with my dad's huckleberry jelly and had coffee. Saturday afternoon, we saw the Seattle Gilbert and Sullivan production of Yeoman of the Guard, and for dinner, had a delicious (as always) dinner at Tolouse Petit. The Gilbert and Sullivan production is only showing through next weekend, but if you have the chance, I'd highly recommend seeing it. It was one of my favorites!
Sunday, I was able to make it out for another book club hike on Sauk Mountain, and what a hike it was! We had truly glorious weather, and thanks to our early start, we were able to beat the heat and the crowds to the top. The combination of stunning summit views, a lovely book to discuss, and wonderful company as always made this my favorite book club outing to date!
