The first full week of 2016 was a beautiful week full of sunshine and suprises. Work was quiet, which meant I had time to build me new desk from Ikea when it arrived Wednesday. So many people complain about assembling Ikea furniture, but I always find it satisfying to organize and identify all the pieces, then follow the funny little drawings.
Book club this month was a surprisingly good time. The book itself was a strange, short little compilation of single-paragraph stories, but it got us discussing the strange and dark Christmas traditions from all over Europe.
Another nice surprise was this perfectly timed chicken chili recipe. It was the first time in months that I've made a new recipe immediately after seeing it, and it was perfect for a hearty winter dinner.
Sunday, Andy and I finally made it out for a hike, our first since October. More about that soon!
