Life: Week 11

March 23, 2017 Laura Norsen

After a frustrating week filled with rain and too much work stress, it was extra lovely to have my cousin and her daughter visiting from Portland for the weekend! We spent the weekend brunching and aimlessly browsing bookstores. If I can't be out on a trail, bookstores are definitely my favorite place to be, so spending almost an entire weekend in them did wonders for my stress level, although my bank account certainly didn't benefit from all that book buying! If I keep this up, soon my to-read book pile will tower over my bed, and I may run the risk of waking up to a book avalanche one day soon. At least they're mostly paperbacks...

Longer days mean time for evening walks along the Sammamish River

About me

Hi there! I'm Laura, and I'm an alpine addict. When I'm not out on the trail, I'm most likely at home snuggled up with my cat and a good book.

Perfect morning for a river hike, especially when there are views like this!
An excellent reminder
With high avalanche danger in the mountains, today was a rainy Issaquah Alps sort of day. I think I've decided that hiking in the rain is my favorite, since not only are trails quieter, but the people you do run into are the best sort of hikers - other souls undeterred by a little weather!
Just a little Monday magic 😍
Perfect morning for a snowshoe in a snowstorm and some lovely hygge conversation with the #alpinetrailsbookclub After everyone had left, the clouds parted giving us a sliver of blue sky and a peek at mountains through the trees!
Winter wonderland!❄️
Don't let crap weather keep you inside. Sometimes the ugliest days can be the most magical in the woods!
