Last week I was wrong when I predicted weeks of grey skies! We've had another week of springlike weather, and the blooms of late winter are everywhere, making it feel as it spring is well under way. I know that it's still weeks away, but I am loving every minute of this ever changing weather. From my office on Wednesday there was pouring rain out one window and sunshine out the other, and shortly afterward, a vivid rainbow. Other than the dramatic weather, it was a quiet week. Andy was getting over a terrible cold, so we didn't do much.
I did finish the hat I've been working on for Andy, and he wore it on a lovely short hike Sunday to Lighthouse Point at Deception Pass State Park. I can't get enough coastal hiking this year! Perhaps I'll have to plan a multi-night trip on the Olympic Peninsula over the summer to continue the trend! Deception Pass was peaceful and uncrowded, a wonderful afternoon outdoors that almost made up for the fact that I marked the wrong date on my calendar and missed out on the first hike of the Alpine Trails Book Club. I know there will be many more to come, but I was so looking forward to this first meeting, and it was such a disappointment to miss it due to my own mistake. For the future, I'll double triple check my dates to make sure I don't miss out again!
